Review - Flying to England With Flybee

I recently chose to fly to England with Flybee, the budget airline that operates from a number of regional airports. I wondered what sort of service that would provide.

After a stay on the west coast of France, I'd opted to fly back to England using a service provided by Flybee. I selected Flybee because they ran a regular service from Rennes to Southampton.

The increase in budget airlines has undoubtedly meant that it's much easier to fly into smaller regional airports and this was really a case in point.

If the Flybee route did not exist then it would have been necessary for me to fly into one of the London airports, greatly reducing my travelling time.

I found that the check-in at Rennes airport was very simple and smoothly done. The airport was relatively small with few facilities, which might have become a problem if the flight had been delayed.

As it was, the flight departed on time. To my untrained eye, the aircraft itself appeared similar to those operated by better known competitors. Given that I am quite tall, the leg room was pretty poor, but no worse than most commercial operators.

The flight was certainly smooth enough - refreshments were offered for sale onboard, as they are not included as part of the ticket price. I opted for a sandwich, which tasted good but was a little over-priced.

On landing at Southampton Airport, it was noticeable that baggage appeared very quickly at the baggage reclaim point.

Overall, I felt that Flybee offered a good level of service, particularly given that I didn't pay very much for the flight.

Cheap and cheerful!
