Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid, known as Ghb, is a drug that is used in the medical field as an anesthetic and to treat a variety of problems such as insomnia, clinical depression, and even narcolepsy. This drug is also known as the date rape drug, since it tends to intoxicate people and loosen up their inhibitions as well. While Ghb is actually made by the body, large doses of the drug can be quite dangerous and cause a variety of negative effects.

Effects of Ghb Abuse

There are many effects that can come if you abuse Ghb. Some of these effects include nausea, muscle weakness, loss of the gag reflex, need to be social, intense happiness, amnesia, slurred speech, sedation, passing out, and in extreme cases, it can actually result in death. It is very easy to overdose on this drug, and an overdose can slow down your heart and your breathing and can put you in a coma, or it can kill you.
