FAA Bureaucracy Insane

The Federal Aviation Administration is considering imposing user fees on general aviation. Why? Because those morons cannot seem to control their costs and the bureaucracy is growing like the Blob from Hell in a second rate B movie.

The President of Cessna correctly identifies the ramifications on these user fees in general aviation at a time when the general aviation manufacturing industry is feeling pressures from India and Chinas growing general aviation manufacturing fledgling industries.

The unfortunate thing is that none of this really needs to happen at all. The FAA does not need any more monies, they need a diet and massive budget cuts. After 9-11 the general aviation sector took a huge hit and the FAAs answer was to grow their bureaucracy rather than streamlining it.

Rather than addressing their piss poor performance they allowed other Department of Homeland Security agencies to bully them into more regulations and controls on the flow of air travel. The over stressed system looked for more ways to pay for the bureaucracy growth, so they looked towards general aviation, as if it was a risk at all to pay their own way? In reality general aviation poses no real threat, only it appears to be a concern of stupid politicians with knee jerk reactions to the mass media hysteria inciting their constituencies.

Our civilization as we know it cannot continue if we all allow government bureaucracy to crumble every single industry sector one by one. We need to tell the FAA and all these agencies to go to hell and to downsize, as none of them do anything very well. Consider this in 2006.
