Cone Shaped Undercarriage Ground Cushion for Rotor Craft

Helicopters have become part of modern life in the world. They are able to help us watch the news, move executives around and do jobs which there is no other way to do, such as search and rescue efforts or wild fire fighting.
We rely on Helicopters in wartime also to move our troops without risking the hazards of roadside bombs, ambush or small arms fire. Lets face it we need helicopter for so many important human endeavors not only in our own nation like in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma, but also in other nations to help those civilization grown and survive.
Without helicopters many would die each year for failure to evac them to hospitals or bring them supplies like after the Sumatra Earthquake and Indonesia Tsunami or Pakistan Earthquake. Unfortunately Helicopters are somewhat dangerous and therefore they can also cause risks in their usage.
We need to find other ways to make helicopters safer, by increasing performance and increasing flight envelopes. I propose using a cone shaped undercarriage to harness the ground cushion affect without adversely causing too much increased drag or counteract the downward force of the rotor blade. The cone would slightly divert downward airflow forces and redirect it under the cone. The thickened air would then push up on the helicopter without helping in increasing its performance. Think on this in 2006.
