Business Strategy v/s Tactics

Change Management
Most of us are confused between the two words Strategy and Tactics. Strategy is a long term policy whereas tactics are how you deal with problems now. It is short term. Tactics is a word of great prominence in todays' business scenario. But strategy must involve tactics that can lend to faultless working by an organisation and is the main support that has to arrive from the core management itself.
While chanakya implied that strategy is a must to lead an organisation to success, he also advocated that tactful dealing of the problem would help you to develop a good strategy. A manager must first identify the quality of his subordinates and act accordingly. By this he can not only win over the people around him but can also get around easily with one and all, in turn reaping the best out of all. High handedness is now a long lost word to refer! Most of the concerns stress on equality among the cadres despite a hike in position or a pay scale. Every individual is a must for the concern and the best is given in an amicable atmosphere.
Personal enemity may well be kept at bay. Not all in our surroundings have the sweetness of a flower, each carrying their own negations. But a working atmosphere to be successful must have a ready tolerance to others. this will keep a pleasant mentality in the employees and work can progress smoothly. Creating a pleasant atmosphere is the primary responsibility of the heads of the organisation,a good boss and a good neighbor are two blessings in disguise.
A right strategy is is where every presentation is viewed with transparency and the right initiative is taken unanimously wherever possible. The leader must see to it that his team does not suffer any sort of psychological backfiring and the goal ahead is given clarity of vision. He must tactfully involve the younger team members with the older and more experienced faculty so that both benefit by each others merits.
When decisions become controversial among themselves it may well be delayed by a day. History stands witness to the fact that haste makes waste. No man thinks the same every day. Tactful handling of situation is seen in nation building where one small law passed wrongly or one % of the tax imposed can cause huge financial or economic losses to the nation.
Truth stands out as promises and lies can be more devastating than ever believed. Practice of clean business practices can help safe progress and keeps all in the organisation highly motivated.
