Networking, it is said, is probably the real key to business. I mean seriously, it has to be up there in the top 3 to 5, at least.
Networking seems to be born into some and resisted as if cancer by others.
Ah, the human frailty thing.
Two sisters play in a tennis foursome every Saturday. They both work at the same hospital as nurses. And they're both equally talented within the nursing profession.
Yet when the matches are over, one invariably starts talking to everyone in the club and getting to know them and the other sips dry white wine and exchanges small talk with the bartender.
Take a wild guess which one of the twin sisters works in Intensive Care and which one of them runs Intensive Care...
The simple fact is that when we seek to network (and we do it well) we open ourselves up to possibilities that, until we really thought about it, were exceedingly LIMITED.
