Depression Help
Experiencing holiday blues or post holiday blues can be a real drag. There has got to be a way to avoid or eliminate this seasonal depression. Year after year we look for the holiday season to bring hope, excitement, and anticipation but all we get is anxiety, depression and pain.
I am all for skipping it this year and every year. So here is a powerful but simple tip to not only avoid holiday blues or post holiday blues but you can eliminate them forever. I am sure you are familiar with some of the causes of seasonal depression. One very common one is \"seasonal light disorder\". It is believed that decreased exposure to light in the winter months from the sun may contribute to seasonal depression.
Certainly there are probably some environmental factors that contribute to seasonal depression, but what I consider to be the major culprit is conditioning. Years of conditioning cause us to fall into a seasonal pattern of ups and down. Like clockwork the same holiday blues show up.
To break the years of conditioning will take very little effort and it may even be fun. You don\'t have to endure another year dreading the hustle and bustle ever again. Breaking your mental conditioning doesn\'t involve changing or stopping anything, but it involves adding something that will change how you anticipate the season.
So what is this holiday blues killer? It is so simple you probably won\'t believe me but you have nothing to lose if you try. Every holiday season find one thing you are interested in learning or experiencing and just do it. For me it usually involves a creative aspect but it can be anything. For Example; learning to dance the Salsa, taking a writing course, learning to knit, learning to paint, learning to ski, or reading a book. Learn something creative, useful and fun every holiday season.
By making the holiday season or any time of the year that you experience the blues, a time of learning, you will be able to take the focus off of how you feel and experience the season as a time of growth and giving to yourself. Just by inserting this one new thinking pattern you can avoid holiday blues or post holiday blues forever.
You can break unproductive and destructive \"thought barriers\" in motivation, self esteem, health, confidence and much more. You can literally reprogram yourself for a lifetime of success and achievement.
