Aviation Safety Critical Item - Engine Too Low

6:15 pm RSS Feed Icon Airplane

The modern aircraft are getting bigger and bigger but engines are getting lower and lower, a growing tendency? Why? Due to efficiency settings? The engines are so low that even a 2 year old child can touch it from the ground. This is a problem for aviation safety because it is too dangerous especially while coming into land because a sudden gust of wind from a critical angle may cause the body to roll. It may not be a concern in any aviation safety program so far. But if this roll exceeds the minimum height of the engines, they will hit the ground which will be the end of the aircraft.

Therefore this factor should be taken into consideration in any aviation safety critical item listing. Aircraft manufactures may not have taken into consideration this critical aviation safety item and neither may N.T.S.B (National Transport Safety Board) authorities have taken a serious look into this matter yet. All though many accidents have occurred, it is little known whether this particular factor has been the critical cause therefore it is time to make a full scale reassessment of accidents and carefully identify the cause and take rectification steps immediately. This is an aviation safety critical item.

Almost all passengers traveling by air are never interested in taking a look at this remarkable piece of machinery. They are not even interested if they will be alive after the journey (left to god). They just want to finish the journey and get it over with.

They have not only designed the aircraft with the engines too low. They have also designed the airport so that passengers could be easily settled down, strapping themselves into the seats with the least fuss. Imagine the fracas an intelligent passenger would put up if he sees the engine so low? And decides that it is indeed too dangerous?- so close to the ground, oh no!
