Many people dream of being able to fly a plane but don't know how affordable or accessible getting instruction for becoming an aircraft pilot can really be. There are many certified aircraft flight instruction schools, especially in Nevada, that offer programs to help people who love to fly get their pilot's license, whether as recreational private pilots for small aircraft (PPL) or as commercial pilots on large aircraft flights (CPL).
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations require 40 hours of minimum flying time before a pilot's license is issued. At least 20 of those hours must be spent with a certified instructor from an accredited aircraft flight instruction school, and 20 hours must be student solo flights. In Nevada, you can get your private pilot license in as little as a month and after 10 to 16 hours of solo flying time with supervised aircraft flight instruction. It takes at least six months to become a commercial aircraft pilot.
To be able to solo flight, the FAA requires you to first provide a medical certificate of health, proof of age and physical competency. A certified pilot's license also requires a written exam. In Nevada, you must be at least 16 years old to solo flight and at least 17 years old to get your private pilot license. To get your commercial pilot license you have to be at least 18 years old, and you must be at least 23 years old to get your airline transport license (ATPL).
Those who wish to learn to fly need to do their homework to find a reputable aircraft flight instruction school that will guide them through applying for a license and what associated costs are involved. Nevada is the perfect place for aircraft flight instruction because of the open space and beautiful landscape that can only be appreciated from being airborne.
